When celebs ran into legal trouble

According to recent developments in the Salman hit-and-run case, the sessions court has directed the Mumbai police to record the statements of three additional witnesses, claims a PTI report. Special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat has been quoted in the report as saying that, "The court directed the police to record the statements of a Road Transport Office inspector and two police constables."

Salman Khan has often played the tough cop in his reel life. The actor was seen as a policeman in films like GarvWantedDabangg and Dabangg 2. In his real life, however, the actor has been through his share of legal troubles. On September 28, 2002, the superstar was arrested for rash and negligent driving which allegedly killed one person and injured four others. The actor is under trial for this alleged act. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the prosecution in the 2002 hit-and-run case told the sessions court that Salman's lawyer was delaying the trial to which the judge agreed saying that the case had already been going on for 13 years and should end by December. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actor was present in the court on December 3, as the judge heard depositions in the case. The report stated that as per the chemical analysis, Salman's blood alcohol level was found to be double the legal limit. While, as per the Motor Vehicle Act, permissible limit for presence of alcohol in human blood sample is 30 mg per 100 ml of blood, Salman's sample showed presence of 62 mg of alcohol. After a series of questioning and cross-questioning, the case was adjourned to a further date.
