5 dialogues of Shah Rukh Khan President Barack Obama could have quoted in his speech!

President Obama’s rendition of SRK’s “Senorita, bade bade deshon mein…” in his speech this morning bowled me over! Here are 5 dialogues from SRK starrers which I think Obama would have aced at, had he chosen to quote them…

Prime Minister Narendra Modi owned Madison Square garden during his USA visit when he quoted Star Wars at the end of his speech saying, “May the force be with you!” It was President Obama‘s turn to reciprocate with something even more awesome and reciprocate he did! When Mr O mouthed the iconic dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, I wasn’t just in splits but awe-struck as well. President Obama has officially become the coolest President I’ll ever live to see! While his “Senorita, bade bade deshon mein, you know what I mean…” was on-point, here are 5 Bollywood dialogues I wished he incorporated in his Siri Fort speech today…
Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost- Om Shanti Om
This could have probably come when he spoke of India- USA ties with supreme positivity and promise and what the future holds for both the countries. Imagine the coolness quotient hitting the roof at this point!
70 minute- Chak De
A brilliant quote that could have been referenced to during the part in his speech where Obama spoke about gender equality. Women can play the biggest game-changers in a society if they break stereotypes and patriarchal restrictions, a fact that Obama could have backed with SRK’s iconic Chak De monologue.
Barack… naam toh suna hi hoga- Dil To Pagal Hai
THAT would have made for the best opening to an awesome speech! Agree?
Haar ke jeetne wale ko Baazigar kehte hain- Baazigar
President Obama talked about how despite terrible inequalities, we live in wonderful countries where the grandson of a cook can become a President and a tea-seller can become a Prime Minister! The Baazigar dialogue would have been so spot-on to conclude this point!
Jiyo… Khush Raho… Muskurao… Kya pata Kal Ho Na Ho- Kal Ho Na Ho
I know this dialogue doesn’t tie up with anything Obama said at his speech but just to see him be all dramatic and quote this profound Kal Ho Na Ho reference would have been a day-maker!
