10 MOST HILARIOUS one-liners from Ranveer-Arjun's AIB roast

Comedy Collective All India Bakchod, whose Roast of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor was held in December in Mumbai last year, finally unveiled the edited version of the show on January 28 on YouTube.
Don't know what a roast is? Well, it's a comedy event -- generally for charity -- where celebrity guests (in this case, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor) are made fun of by the roast's hosts (AIB). The event is hosted by a roast master (Karan Johar did the honours). Everyone makes fun of everyone else and after having themselves thoroughly insulted (in good humour, though!), the roastees get to have their own back.
True to form, the show -- featuring roast master Karan Johar and the AIB crew Rohan Joshi, Tanmay Bhatt, Gursimran Khamba and Ashish Shakya, who were joined by stand-up comics Aditi Mittal and Abish Mathew, film critic Rajeev Masand and Roadies producer Raghu Ram -- was a laugh riot.
Former lovers, sexual orientation, casting couch, promiscuity, general doses of profanity, nothing was off limits in this first-of-its-kind show in India -- fashioned after the famous Comedy Central Roast.

We bring you the MOST (considering the content, let's modify that to 'most acceptably') HILARIOUS jokes from the show!
1. AIB's Ashish Shakya: 'Lootera was based on a O Henry story called The Last Leaf… because Sonakshi ate the rest of the leaves.

'Just kidding, Sonakshi doesn’t eat salads.'

And that is Sonakshi's reaction!

2. AIB member Rohan Joshi to Arjun Kapoor
: 'It takes a special something to be the least talented member in the family that has Sonam and Sanjay Kapoor.'

Ranveer Singh can't believe the roast went THERE, but Sanjay Kapoor in the audience got up and took a bow!
3. Comedian Abish Mathew: 'Ranveer, how does it feel to be the only person in India who is sad when Virat Kohli scores a century?'
Anushka Sharma's former flame could only grin and bear that googly.

4. Roast master Karan Johar: 'I'm not saying that Ranveer Singh does shit films. But the last truly good thing he was in was Deepika Padukone.'
Deepika laughed loud and hard with the crowd.

5. AIB member Tanmay Bhatt: 'Arjun Kapoor has the creepiest smile in the film industry. His smile is so creepy, even Shakti Kapoor checks his shirt’s buttons when he finds Arjun smiling at him.'

Arjun flashes his villainous smile for all to see.

6. Ranveer Singh: 'You guys paid Rs 4,000 to watch us here. Itne mein 25 baar Gunday dekh sakte the.'
Arjun Kapoor: 'Itni himmat toh hum mein bhi nahi thi.'
The duo marvel at their flawless delivery.
7. Tanmay Bhatt: 'Karan Johar, why do your movies pander so much to the NRI audience? If they pander to the NRI audience more, I'll have to call you Narendra Modi.'
KJo is, needless to say, understandably sheepish.

8. AIB member Gursimran Khamba: 'Arjun Kapoor failed the 12th standard and after that he lost a lot of weight. He’s Smriti Irani. In reverse.'
Ranveer Singh comforts his former costar and friend after this zinger. Karan Johar, on the other hand, cannot control his laughter.

9. Gursimran Khamba: 'Karan Johar is now best friends with Anurag Kashyap so he can get some, like, Indie cred.

'It’s the first time in Bollywood that someone has slept their way to the bottom.'

Anurag Kashyap, sitting among the audience, is tickled funny; KJo doesn't know where to look.
10. Karan Johar to the audience: 'You guys get me, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor -- three stars in Rs 4,000. Even Rajeev Masand charges Rs 5 lakh.'

The film critic decides to be a good sport.

Review: Badlapur music is worth a listen By Latest Bollywood Songs

Review: Badlapur music is worth a listen

Varun Dhawan in BadlapurEach of the songs in Badlapur make their presence felt, says Joginder Tuteja.
The soundtrack of Sriram Raghavan's filmBadlapur has just three songs, composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Priya Saraiya and (producer) Dinesh Vijan.
The opening track Jee Karda is awesome. Divya Kumar of Maston Ka Jhund (from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag) and G Phaad Ke (Happy Ending) fame is on fire in this heartfelt rendition.
The music conveys a strong sense of betrayal, pain, hurt and agony, aided by powerful lyrics.
Jee Karda is a Punjabi-Hindi number that stays with you long after you’ve played it. The video with Varun Dhawan arouses one’s curiosity about the film and the 'rock version' seals the deal. Do hear it!
There is further reason to rejoice with Jeena Jeena sung by Atif Aslam who returns to the Bollywood musical scene more than a year after his chartbuster track Main Rang Sharbaton Ka (Phata Poster Nikhla Hero).
He gives another soulful rendition with Jeena Jeena that carries a simple tune composed by Sachin-Jigar.
There’s the hint of an oriental flavour in there once the flute is heard.
The remix version is very different but both are appropriate and fit the mood of play.
The third and last song of the album is Judaai, which has the unconventional pairing of Rekha Bhardwaj and Arijit Singh. Both singers are known for their quality output and it is good to hear them together in this offbeat duet.
A soft number, starting with Rekha’s husky vocals, the tempo builds up once Arijit comes on the scene.
The lyrics too are unconventional. It may not become a chartbuster, but it makes for good listening.
The music of Badlapur is a satisfying experience. Each of the three songs makes their presence felt.

Bombay Velvet arrives with a bang! By Latest Bollywood Songs

Bombay Velvet arrives with a bang!

The film is scheduled for a May 15 release this year.
Bombay Velvet arrives with a bang!

Bombay Velvet is one of the most anticipated films of 2015. Delayed due to several issues, the film is finally ready to hit the screens.

Yesterday, filmmaker Aurag Kashyap shared a teaser poster (left) on twitter and wrote -  'Give it up for the Big Shot of #BombayVelvet Johnny Balraj. First look out tomorrow.'

The teaser was a back shot of Ranbir Kapoor in a fighting cage.

Soon the first look of the film was released featuring Ranbir Kapoor as the no nonsense street fighter - Johnny Balraj.

Bombay Velvet is based on Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, and Kay Kay Menon in pivotal roles. Ranbir essays the role of Johnny Balraj, a street fighter who becomes one of the biggest industrial tycoons in Mumbai from 1950s to the 1970s and Anushka of Rosie - an aspiring jazz singer and Johnny's love interest. The film also stars filmmaker Karan Johar (who’ll be playing an antagonist) and marks the silver screen comeback of Raveena Tandon.
Stay tuned for more exclusive scoop on the film.

Check out: Aamir Khan's new look for Dangal

Surprises are what Aamir Khan is known for! The superstar has left us speechless with his performances several times. The actor seems to be in no hurry in releasing a film in 2015 and hence, has also stayed aloof from the media glare post the grand success of PK. It is now that we realized the reason behind it is -Dangal.

For months now, there have been speculations about Aamir Khan playing the role of a wrestler in the upcoming film Dangal) which means a wrestling match), a biopic based on the famous wrestler Mahavir Phogat. Though Aamir Khan never spoke about his next film after PK during the promotions, now it seems we have got a thumbs up from the actor's side. After more than a month, we spotted Aamir Khan along with wife Kiran Rao recently. He was seen in a beefed up avatar after extensive physical training, since it is very different role from the 'alien' he played in PK. And what added to the 'wrestler' look was the salt pepper beard and the almost bald look.

With many actors including Salman Khan and John Abraham having their eyes set on wrestling (both are making a biopic on wrestler Gama Pehlwan), it seems the sport will gain a lot of momentum in the future years

10 reasons why Bigg Boss 8 was a major let down for me!

10 reasons why Bigg Boss 8 was a major let down for me!

The one thing you can usually bank on Bigg Boss for is some major drama. But this time around it clearly ran out of steam and turned into a yawn fest! Here’s why the acme of Indian reality TV failed to work for me this season…

I watch Bigg Boss. What’s more, I love it. So much that I prepone my dinner time from 9 pm to 8:30 pm every year during these three months and stop entertaining guests. But I have to say that the guests deserved more attention than Bigg Boss 8. Yes, the eighth season of nation’s most controversial reality show was a major letdown for me. It started with a bang like every year, but unfortunately I got bored soon. Bigg Boss did not manage to entertain me this time because:
The chaotic vimaan- The makers decided to show their creativity in a brand new set they developed for the high voltage reality show. A crashed and grounded plane with tendrils growing around it. And all the 12 contestants were made to stay inside that airplane for about two weeks. The idea was unique, I have to admit, but since the contestants were living under such harsh conditions, half of the time went into cribbing about the lack of facilities rather than interacting with each other. In fact, the first showdown between Gautam Gulati and Karishma Tanna took place only after they entered the house, remember?
Aeroplane
Salman Khan not at his entertaining best -In the beginning, it was uncertain whether Salman Khan will host Bigg Boss 8 or not, but to the delight of his legion of fans, the Bollywood superstar returned as its anchor. Ever since the Dabangg star took charge of Bigg Boss, it got into my head that he is the best thing about this show, no matter what. His superstar status makes hosting Bigg Boss equivalent to having Brad Pitt host Big Brother US. However, this time around his disinterest was quite evident every week, which was a major turn off for me. Salman was definitely not at his entertaining best, whoever says otherwise must be kidding themselves.

Secret Society – Bigg Boss, who as we all know has always been in an incognito mode took it to another level as he decided to take a break from his duties and gave all the authority to the Secret Society, which gave orders to the other contestants and were safe from eliminations in the initial days. The members of the Secret Society included RJ Pritam Singh, Deepshika Nagpal and Puneet Issar, which was revealed later on in the show. We also got a social message from Salman, with the entry of the Secret Society. He informed us that wherever there are middlemen there will be scams, corruption and manipulation *slow clap*. But, we didn’t see much manipulation and everything else happening, and the whole idea fell flat, which was quite evident from the results of a poll we conducted asking the opinion of our readers about SS.

Kim Kardashian’s no show – Pamela Anderson in a sarong was the most memorable visual thatBigg Boss ever presented to its audience. So when the news of Kim Kardashian entering the Bigg Boss 8 house broke, the media obviously went into a tizzy. However, it was later announced the reality TV star won’t be a part of the show since she could not come to India due to visa issues. Kim inside the Bigg Boss house would have definitely been a major highlight and could have given a boost to falling TRPs, but it all went down the drain.
Kim-Kardashian
Too many wildcard entries - Getting wildcard contestants at the drop of a hat was another formula that the makers adopted to save the show. While Ali Quli Mirza and Dimpy Ganguly’s entry worked, Nigaar Khan and Rene Dhyaani couldn’t do much and bid adieu soon.
Too many outsiders - The format of Bigg Boss is created to give you a snapshot into an unnatural world. Celebrities who are starved for fame, ranging from has-been stars to never-to-be stars, are locked in house, which is cut from the outside world. So getting celebrity friends of the inmates for a party that was organised inside the chaotic house didn’t make any sense. Getting to meet relatives and family members was perfectly fine, but I feel the makers lost the plot by getting so many people and that too at once inside the house in which you are not allowed to have any form of contact with the outside world.

Parineeti Chopra’s prank – In one of the episodes, Ali Quli Mirza stroked Sonali Raut’s leg, without her consent – and was reprimanded for doing so. It was good to see a woman’s right of choice and consent. But as we all know good things rarely last, especially on Bigg Boss. The very next day, the creative team came up with a stunt that was offensive on so many levels that I literally lost count. Parineeti Chopra, who had entered the house to promote her new film Kill Dilaccused Ali of touching her inappropriately. Salman Khan, Govinda, Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and Ranveer Singh tagged Ali as a repeat offender who needed help…. until it was revealed to be a prank a few minutes later. Obviously, all of this didn’t go down too well with many viewers who thrashed Parineeti and others involved in the prank on Twitter.

Bigg Boss Halla Bol – After watching these celebrities fighting, crying and backbiting inside that house for over three months, I was not happy when the makers decided to extend the show, despite being a huge fan. They ran out of strong contenders and called contestants from earlier seasons for this spin-off series titled Bigg Boss Halla Bol.

Salman bids adieu - The final nail in the coffin was Salman bidding adieu to the show and handing the baton over to Farah Khan. It was at that very point when I, and surely lot of people lost the little interest we had in the show this time around.
Salman
Farah Khan depressed me as a host - Salman had become synonymous to Bigg Boss, so obviously I couldn’t accept Farah as the new host. Now, you would say that comparisons would be unfair. But then Farah’s teacher act just didn’t impress me. In fact, we even asked our readers who is the better host amongst the two. Well, no points for guessing who won this poll!
